In the Second Petition of the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus teaches us to pray, “Thy kingdom come.” How does God’s kingdom come? “God’s kingdom comes when our heavenly Father gives us His Holy Spirit, so that by His grace we believe His holy Word and lead godly lives here in time and there in eternity.” (Small Catechism). Pray for your friend, or family member, that God would give them the Holy Spirit (through His Word) so that they may live by faith, and in love, here on earth and forever in heaven.
